are you a new year’s resolution-er? or do you just naturally set intentions? you may find that today’s celestial energy is especially supportive of any intentions set, as new moons signal a period of generally increasing energy reserves. additionally, the moon is supported by a favourable aspect to saturn, the planet of discipline and the ruler of capricorn (where this new moon is taking place).
as for saturn’s condition, she is in pisces. saturn is, amongst other things, the planet of delayed gratification and hard-won lessons. and pisces, pisces is a water sign representing, amongst other things, infinite connection, the formless void, and the wisdom we get from the sea.
the overarching metaphor I see with this placement is the image of how pearls are formed. the smallest irritant can be incredibly uncomfortable if it gets stuck in a sensitive area or under our clothes. shelled mollusks take microscopic objects like these, even bits of themselves that got damaged, and with enough layers of secretion, the irritant’s effect is softened, and eventually form what we consider to be gems.
in the same way, this new moon is offering us an opportunity to receive pearls of wisdom from ourselves.
where do we constantly show up, physically, emotionally, spiritually, or all three, and what has that given us? where do we apply softness and moisture consistently, and what has that given us? how can we continue these processes in other areas of life that we want to see growth?
